For Your Own Good

So it’s a night crossing and my cabin is pretty plush, a brand new boat and all the chrome is shining like a set of Harley pipes. In the bathroom I am intrigued by a solitary sign. Stuck to the bottom of the mirror, just above the hand basin, I am admonished to ‘Check water temperature before use’. Now this raises a few questions in my mind….Why isn’t there a sign on my bed ‘Get in before sleeping’? Why not one on the sofa ‘Test comfort level before use’? If the powers that decide on sign usage (who applied for that job!) feel the impulse to offer me advice for my wellbeing can I suggest a few ideas far more useful.   How about……. ‘It’s a mirror. Go on, try a smile!’  You must have noticed how a smile can change everything but i’m not sure it is something we tend to project at ourselves, however I do think we should give it a go. Find a mirror, smile at yourself and feel the universe brighten a little. No, I mean it, go on, off you go, find a mirror…..
